As the South has been blanketed in snow, where as normally the New Forest misses the fun the white stuff brings, this time, amazingly, we did not escape!
It started with sleet at around 4 0’clock on the 5th January, which quickly turned to heavy snow causing then the usual chaos to on roads to commuters trying to get home.
Unfortunately this has had a knock on effect with the service from South West Trains ‘Lymington Flyer’ as unlike Island Line, it was unpractical to run ghost trains through the night in order for the service to run.
However SWT have tried everyday to run a test train through, but the ice on the third rail has made this impossible to do so.
Therefore it is with regret that there will not be a service from Lymington Pier or town to Brockenhurst until further notice….please check SWT website for details and this website will be updated ASAP.
